Introduction to Beekeeping – one day classroom course, 10am-4pm)
Venue: Weald Memorial Hall, Long Barn Rd, TN14 5PT
Dates: either Sunday 25th January 2026 or, Sunday 15th February 2026
This course will be a basic introduction to beekeeping aimed at those with no previous experience. The purpose is to introduce interested beginners to the responsibilities of beekeeping, the basic lifecycle and behaviour of honeybees, and the logistics and commitment needed to keep honeybees in a domestic environment. Visits to the branch apiary for hands-on experience will be arranged separately in the spring.
The number of attendees is limited to 12 due to the size of the venue.
Course fee is £60 for members or friends of Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells Beekeepers, £70 for non-members.
Course fee is required in advance and only refundable at the discretion of the treasurer
Any attendee under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who must remain present throughout the day. The course content and duration is not suitable for young people under 11 years. There is no fee for an adult chaperone who is not participating in the course.
